Effective date: August 12, 2026
eDigitalReviews may allow readers, contributors, manufacturers, businesses, and other visitors to submit comments, questions, product experiences, images, corrections, opinions, reviews, and other material through the website.
This User-Generated Content Policy explains what visitors may submit, what standards apply, how submitted material may be used, and when eDigitalReviews may edit, restrict, or remove user-generated content.
User-generated content can improve a technology publication when it adds practical experience, identifies an error, explains a different use case, or helps readers understand how a product performs in a real environment. It can also create risks when it contains false claims, personal information, copyright violations, spam, or undisclosed advertising.
Our objective is to encourage useful participation while protecting readers, contributors, rights holders, and the integrity of the website.
1. What Counts as User-Generated Content
User-generated content includes any material submitted, posted, uploaded, transmitted, or shared by a visitor or third party through eDigitalReviews.
This may include:
- Public comments.
- Reader questions.
- Product reviews.
- Product ratings.
- Personal ownership experiences.
- Correction requests.
- Technical feedback.
- Suggested article topics.
- Product submission information.
- Photographs.
- Screenshots.
- Videos.
- Audio files.
- Documents.
- Links submitted for editorial review.
- Company or public relations responses.
- Messages sent through website forms.
- Community discussions, where enabled.
Content submitted through a private form may not be published publicly. However, it may be reviewed by authorized editors, contributors, technical providers, or service providers who need access to process the submission.
2. Eligibility and Responsibility
You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring that it is accurate, lawful, relevant, and appropriate for the feature through which it is submitted.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- You have the right to submit the material.
- You own the material or have permission from the relevant rights holder.
- The information is not intentionally false or misleading.
- The submission does not violate another person’s rights.
- You are not impersonating another individual or organization.
- You are not using the submission to conceal a commercial relationship.
- You are not submitting private information without permission.
- You are not attempting to distribute malicious software or harmful files.
If you submit a product experience, you should describe your actual experience. Do not claim to have used, tested, purchased, owned, repaired, or measured a product if you have not done so.
If you submit content on behalf of a company, brand, agency, retailer, or other organization, you must have authority to do so and should identify that relationship when it is relevant to the submission.
3. Acceptable Content
Useful user-generated content should contribute meaningful information to the discussion or help eDigitalReviews improve its editorial work.
Acceptable submissions may include:
- A specific correction supported by reliable evidence.
- A description of how a product performed in a particular environment.
- Additional compatibility information.
- A practical setup suggestion.
- A clear question about a technology product.
- A respectful disagreement with an editorial conclusion.
- A detailed explanation of a product limitation.
- A report about a broken feature or technical problem.
- A photograph or screenshot that helps clarify a product issue.
- A relevant response from a manufacturer or service provider.
- A suggestion for future product review coverage.
Personal experience is welcome when it is described honestly and presented as personal experience rather than universal fact.
A useful submission should identify the relevant product, model, software version, configuration, or article whenever that information affects the accuracy of the comment.
4. Prohibited Content
You may not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, harmful, or unrelated to the purpose of the website.
Prohibited content includes:
- Defamatory or knowingly false allegations.
- Threats, harassment, intimidation, or personal attacks.
- Hate speech or dehumanizing language.
- Obscene or sexually explicit material.
- Content that exploits or endangers children.
- Instructions intended to facilitate criminal activity.
- Malware, viruses, spyware, or harmful code.
- Phishing messages or fraudulent offers.
- Spam and automated comments.
- Repeated promotional messages.
- Undisclosed advertising or affiliate promotion.
- Content that impersonates a person, expert, company, or organization.
- Private information belonging to another person.
- Passwords, payment details, or account credentials.
- Copyrighted material submitted without permission.
- Trademark misuse that creates a false impression of affiliation.
- Content designed to manipulate product ratings or search results.
- Irrelevant keyword-stuffed text.
- Reviews submitted in exchange for payment or another undisclosed benefit.
- Material that interferes with the website’s operation or security.
A disagreement with a review is not prohibited simply because it is negative. Criticism should focus on the product, evidence, testing conditions, or editorial reasoning rather than attacking an individual.
5. Product Reviews and Ratings
If eDigitalReviews permits readers to submit product reviews or ratings, those submissions should reflect genuine experience.
A reader review should not be based solely on a manufacturer’s description, an advertisement, a rumor, or a product that the reviewer has never used. When relevant, reviewers should identify the approximate ownership period, product configuration, operating environment, and reason for using the product.
We may refuse or remove reviews that appear coordinated, copied, fabricated, incentivized without disclosure, or submitted for the purpose of manipulating a product’s reputation.
A reader’s opinion does not represent the editorial conclusion of eDigitalReviews. Public comments and reader reviews may provide additional perspectives, but they are not automatically verified or endorsed by the website.
We may moderate ratings when unusual activity, automated submissions, duplicate accounts, or coordinated campaigns appear to distort the result.
6. Commercial and Promotional Submissions
Companies and representatives may submit product information, technical explanations, product updates, review requests, and responses to published content.
Commercial submissions must be accurate and must not disguise advertising as an independent reader opinion. A company representative should identify their relationship to the product, service, or organization when submitting public content.
We may edit or decline promotional material that is unrelated, exaggerated, repetitive, deceptive, or inconsistent with the purpose of the discussion.
Submitting product information does not guarantee publication, a product review, a favorable recommendation, or a change to an editorial conclusion.
7. Copyright and Permission
You must own or have permission to use photographs, screenshots, videos, audio, documents, quotations, and other material included in a submission.
Do not copy another person’s article, review, photograph, chart, product description, or social media post and submit it as your own work.
By submitting content, you confirm that publication and use of the material by eDigitalReviews will not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights.
If a rights holder believes that submitted material infringes copyright, eDigitalReviews may restrict or remove it while the concern is reviewed.
8. Privacy and Sensitive Information
Do not post personal or confidential information in a public comment or user review.
This includes:
- Home addresses.
- Personal telephone numbers.
- Private email addresses.
- Passwords and login credentials.
- Payment card information.
- Government identification numbers.
- Medical information.
- Private correspondence.
- Confidential business documents.
- Information that identifies a child.
- Personal information belonging to another individual.
If you need to report a private matter, use the appropriate website form and provide only the information necessary to explain the issue.
Once a comment or submission is published publicly, it may be copied, indexed, quoted, archived, or shared by other people. Removing it later may not remove copies stored by search engines, browsers, archives, or third parties.
9. Moderation and Removal
eDigitalReviews may review, edit, refuse, restrict, hide, or remove user-generated content at its discretion.
We may take action when content:
- Violates this policy.
- Violates applicable law.
- Creates a security or privacy risk.
- Contains inaccurate or deceptive claims.
- Infringes another person’s rights.
- Is unrelated to the discussion.
- Repeats previously removed material.
- Appears to be automated or coordinated abuse.
- Includes undisclosed commercial promotion.
- Damages the reliability or usability of the website.
We may remove content without advance notice when immediate action is necessary to protect readers, contributors, rights holders, or the website.
Moderation does not mean that every factual statement has been independently verified. A published comment may represent the contributor’s opinion or personal experience rather than the position of eDigitalReviews.
10. Editing Submissions
We may make limited edits to user-generated content for spelling, formatting, clarity, length, privacy protection, accessibility, legal risk, or technical presentation.
We should not materially change the meaning of a submission without a reasonable editorial purpose. We may ask the contributor to approve a substantial edit or may choose not to publish the material if the edit would alter its meaning.
We may remove personal information, promotional language, irrelevant material, offensive wording, duplicate content, or unsupported claims.
11. License to Use Submissions
By submitting content to eDigitalReviews, you grant the website operator a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, reproduce, edit, publish, display, distribute, archive, translate, adapt, and use the submission in connection with the website, editorial operations, social channels, newsletters, promotional materials, and related publishing activities.
This license allows eDigitalReviews to operate and promote the content feature through which the material was submitted. You retain ownership of the copyright in your original material, subject to the rights granted above.
You must have the authority to grant this license. The license does not require eDigitalReviews to publish, retain, or compensate you for the submission.
12. No Compensation
Unless eDigitalReviews agrees otherwise in writing, submitting content does not create a right to payment, credit, employment, partnership, commission, product, or other compensation.
A product review, comment, correction, photograph, suggestion, or technical explanation may be used without payment when submitted through a feature intended to collect reader or community content.
13. Technical Monitoring
The website may use moderation tools, spam filters, security systems, and automated detection features to identify harmful, deceptive, repetitive, or suspicious submissions.
These systems may occasionally identify legitimate content incorrectly. If your submission is blocked or removed by mistake, you may contact eDigitalReviews with details about the issue.
We may retain moderation records, submission information, and related communications when necessary for security, editorial review, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or website administration.
14. Reporting a Problem
If you believe that user-generated content violates this policy, infringes your rights, exposes private information, contains malicious material, or creates a serious safety concern, submit a clear report through the website’s contact form.
Include:
- The location of the content.
- The nature of the concern.
- The reason for your report.
- Supporting information where available.
- Your contact information if follow-up is necessary.
Do not submit passwords, payment details, government identification, or unrelated sensitive information.
eDigitalReviews aims to provide a constructive environment for reader questions, product experiences, technical feedback, and responsible discussion. Participation is a privilege, and every submission must respect accuracy, privacy, copyright, security, and the rights of other people.
